House Groups
Telephone: 0131 669 4819
Contact Email:
Information:
It is some 20 years since the last initiative to start new House Groups and there was a new one in 2008. House Groups are a way of strengthening one another in our faith journeys, for any age and any stage of life - no previous experience necessary other than a desire to grow in faith in a non-threatening and supportive environment.
Benefits
- Develop and deepen faith
- Broaden understanding of the gospel
- Fellowship and fun in small groups of 6-8 in members homes
- Members of existing House Groups use phrases such as "helpful", "educational", "good for me and my faith", "lots of laughs", "fellowship and support in times of crisis", "environment for getting involved in outreach and faith in action projects"
The books / study material will be provided in the first instance by the Church - groups then go on to make their own choices.
Categories of subject offered are:
- Bible based (verse by verse study)
- Justice and peace issues (eg climate change, slavery)
- Books on Christian themes (eg works of Richard Holloway)
- Spiritual issues including writings (eg works of Celtic writer David Adam), prayer and meditation

Information:
Our church offers activities and worship to a large number of Children and young adults. At the moment there are seventy-four registered users aged between zero and eighteen years! With services of worship and education we aim to provide a stimulating space of spiritual reflection for all ages.
Our 9.30 services of worship on Sunday mornings are designed with families in mind, offering spaces of worship and learning which are-age appropriate and allowing all, from young children through to adults, to leave feeling that they have experienced a time of worship and learning. This is achieved through an informal but spiritual time of worship partnered with high quality Sunday School provision. Our Sunday School is very busy and offers spaces of worship and learning for children from naught up!
This work is enhanced by our youth communities - Chill Out Zone for nine to thirteen year olds Chill Out Zone (COZ) meets in the church hall for pizza, games and a hands-on experience of learning and worship.
This group allows young people a safe and educational space where they can gather, gossip, learn and access advice should they require any. The community meets twice a month.
