INTIMATIONS FOR SUNDAY MARCH 7th
1. COFFEE is served in the Upper Hall at the close of this service. You are warmly invited to come through!
2. EVENING WORSHIP at 7.00pm. This is a service of prayer, silence, Scripture, meditation and music. It is a different worship experience from the morning services. All welcome. (SW)
3. EVENING CAR POOL We now offer lifts to and from the 7.00pm evening service just as we do at the morning service. Anyone who could offer an occasional lift to or from this service, or would find such a lift helpful, please contact George Ross (3, West Mayfield, Tel 668 3859, email g.r.ross@btinternet.com)
4. TIME OF PRAYER I am setting aside a time of prayer to enable us to seek God’s inspiration, will and guidance for all that lies ahead for us at Mayfield Salisbury. One opportunity will be on Sundays after coffee and fellowship following the 10.45 service. The aim is to have a fluid time of prayer where we are comfortable to come and go according to our own circumstances and to speak or be silent. Initially we will come together in the Cloakroom (on the left as you come in the main entrance) and monitor its suitability. Everyone is most welcome and I look forward to sharing this with you.

8. APPEAL We wrote to all members of the congregation in November asking them to consider increasing their regular giving to the Church, in order to eliminate the deficit we have incurred for the past two years and cover expected increases in costs. Those who have responded positively have been generous, promising on average an increase of over 25%. We are very grateful to them. Some members, understandably, have responded saying that in current circumstances they cannot afford to increase their giving. But more than half our members have sent no reply to our letter, which is disappointing. If you have overlooked the letter, or if you never received it, you can find a copy, with copies of the response forms and envelopes, on the table in the Halls Entrance under the large notice board. Or you can contact the Appeal Convener on 667-6331 or at culkein@btinternet.com.

9. Introducing the ‘9.30 BOOK SWAP’ Parents who attend the 9.30 service thought it would be sociable, fun, useful and eco - friendly to introduce a children's book swap after the 9.30 service at tea/coffee/juice time. Simply bring a children's book to swap or donate 20p for a book. All helpers (especially children) welcome! Ros Burns
10. CHRISTIAN AID The Marmalade Sale was a tremendous success and a great big ‘Thank You’ to all who prepared, contributed and purchased. I know just how much effort is involved! We have already made £270 and there is some left for those who missed the opportunity last week. I am told that the standard is very high! Marmalade will be available after both services today in the Halls Vestibule.
The final total for Haiti from the Church through donations, the Salisbury Fund and the Burns’ Supper was £5980.61 before Gift Aid – a tremendous amount and greatly appreciated by Christian Aid. Well done, everyone! Christian Aid does not have personnel in Chile but will pass on any donations through ACTS and from general giving.
