Hillary joined Mayfield Salisbury Parish Church from New Wilmington, Pennsylvania where she was born and raised and subsequently joined the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church (USA) as a teenager.

In 2014 she graduated from Westminster College with a BA in English Literature; she spent two semesters at Stirling University where she gained inspiration for her senior capstone project on Scottish detective fiction. While studying, Hillary spent her summers as a counsellor and program director at Ligonier Camp and Conference Centre; it was here that Hillary developed her passion for working alongside youth.

Following graduation, Hillary joined the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program with PC(USA) in August of 2015. Her first 11-month term took her to Belfast, Northern Ireland where she did youth and community work at Garnerville Presbyterian Church and The Vine Centre. In 2016, Hillary moved to New Orleans, Louisiana for her second term, volunteering as the Community Education Instructor with YMCA Educational Services (YES!), an adult education non-profit.

Hillary is thrilled to be the new Youth Worker at Mayfield Salisbury, and looks forward to building relationships with the families and youth. She believes discipleship of young persons is not only vital to a vibrant church life, but to social justice, peace and advocacy work in the wider world. Hillary looks forward to using her previous experiences and learnings to help shape and develop youth programming at Mayfield Salisbury.

Hillary loves music, cooking, traveling, running, yoga and cosying up with a good novel.
