EMMS International Four Nation Challenge – Pedal 4 Poverty
Alastair and Jean MacGilchrist are getting back on their bikes to raise funds to support those living in extreme poverty in Malawi, Nepal, India, and Scotland. We will be taking on the Mulanje Mission challenge to cycle 100 miles. The route, cycled over 2 days on the 18th and 19th September, combines the 5 ferries route (Arran-Kintyre-Cowal-Bute-Ayrshire) with a circuit of the Isle of Arran. Funds raised for EMMS (Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society) will help create sustainable healthcare infrastructures, give vulnerable young girls the opportunity for a career in healthcare, provide clean running water at rural health centres, offer palliative care to those in need, fight the effects of healthcare emergencies and tackle the effects of climate change.
