The original Mayfield Church of Scotland was opened in July 1879 to a design by Hardy and Wright. There was a renovation in 1958 when the vestry was added.
In 1929, at the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church of Scotland, the congregation changed its name to Mayfield South Church. This was to avoid a clash of names and in kind, Mayfield United Free Church became Mayfield North Church.
In 1966 the congregation united with the nearby Craigmillar Park Church. The newly united church selected this name for the congregation. The former Craigmillar Park builings were sold to St Margarets School.
The building continued in use until 2024 when the congregation united with both Mayfield Salisbury and Priestfield Churches. The building was sold in September 2024.
