Call to Worship
From Psalm 121
Leader: We come looking for guidance,
raising our eyes to the hills and heavens.
All: God, who made everything and everyone,
be our safety and security.
Leader: We come looking to ease our anxieties and fears,
laying before you doubts and troubles
All: God, who never sleeps or turns away,
be with us now and always
Leader: We come looking for purpose,
finding direction to nourish our souls
All: God, who keeps our lives forever,
speak to us as we praise you today
Hymn 198 Let Us Build a House
(t. Two Oaks)
Prayer of Approach, Praise, Confession and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is
the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

annual leave from Wednesday 13 to Wednesday 27 July inclusive
The Church Manager, William Mearns, will also be on annual leave from
Wednesday 13 to Wednesday 27 July inclusive.
9. STAMP APPEAL We are still collecting stamps! This year, the proceeds
from selling them will be used to support pastors in Lebanon. They are
employed by the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon (NESSL),
which is a partner of the Church of Scotland. The economic crisis in the
country has struck hard and the Synod is struggling to pay salaries.
Pastors are key people supporting the spiritual and institutional life and
ministry of the Synod. Despite the hardships experienced, they are reaching
out to the needy in their congregations in a sacrificial way, and have even
set up a scheme where they give half of their salary to a relief programme
for the neediest families. The desperate situation has prompted the Synod
to ask its partners around the world for support. This year the Stamp
Project aims to raise enough funds to pay a pastor a full year's salary. You
can be part of this simply by passing on your used stamps.
Look out for our red stamp-collecting box on the table in the Halls
entrance. If you have a large collection, or stamps which you believe to be
valuable, please let me know and I’ll be happy to pick them up from you in person.

13. UKRAINE It is difficult to remind ourselves as we enjoy time outside
(albeit recently under grey skies) in the eastern part of Ukraine there is no
peace as shells rain down indiscriminately on people, buildings and fields.
The current avenues by which help can be given to support Ukraine, from
hosting a refugee family to prayer, can be found on our website:
www.mayfieldsalisbury.org/index.php/gallery/ukraine Please also
remember those in other parts of the world who face conflict and suffering.
